Course Description

This one-semester course equips students with the tools to overcome the fear of public speaking, build
self-confidence, and step into leadership roles with assurance. Participants will learn to create
and deliver various types of speeches, master the art of improvisation, and conduct effective
presentations.
Through interactive activities, including mock Toastmasters meetings, students will refine their
communication skills while exploring different leadership styles and understanding how to apply
them in real-world situations. The course emphasizes practical strategies for leading, inspiring
others, and displaying leadership in diverse settings.

Objectives of this Course:
● To overcome the fear of public speaking and build confidence.
● To develop effective body language and action in speaking.
● To create the ability to arrange ideas and structure speeches.
● To learn vocal variety and explore various speech styles.
● To evaluate speeches and provide constructive feedback.
● To understand leadership styles and how to apply them.
● To demonstrate an understanding of the multiple purposes of public speaking.
● To complete diverse leadership roles in mock Toastmasters meetings.
● To demonstrate team-building skills through collaborative activities.

course will empower you to excel in public speaking and lead with confidence and impact.

internet.

Text Required

Students will receive a binder with all of their course materials. The cost is $5 to be paid directly to the tutor at Orientation.
