Tutor – Julie Tea
This class is designed to give the student an understanding of music and to inspire an appreciation for music from a variety of different genres and cultures. Students will be introduced to basic music terminology, instrument families, tempo, rhythm, form and meter. These elements will then be used throughout the course as a foundation for discussion of music throughout history. Students will demonstrate their knowledge through various hands on activities, including a presentation on a Western Art Music composer of their choice.
Note to Parents: Your student may be asked to do research on the internet in this class. Please supervise any internet research your student does throughout the course of this class. We have no way of controlling what pictures, sites, or information they may stumble upon when using the internet at home. That accountability should be established between students and parents with oversight being the responsibility of parents.
