Chemistry

Tutor – Rachel Rutherford

Course Description

In this Chemistry Course, we will be covering the basics of general chemistry that will provide applications to daily life. This class requires high level critical thinking and problem solving. Students will grow in this area and will be able to apply these skills to other academia and life circumstances. These skills are refined by trial and error, working out problems, and asking questions along the way!

Monday classes will begin promptly at 8am and please also note that most students will be required to arrive by 7:45 to do their morning chore. This additional class time allows extra time for laboratory experiments without requiring an additional class day. Chapter introductions, topic lectures and example problems will be mixed with the required laboratory experiments.

Lab reports will be required to be turned in to the tutor along with homework questions and module tests. Students will be expected to complete all assignments at home on a weekly basis. Parents use the answer key to grade homework before it is turned in. Tutor creates and grades tests to be taken at home. Midterm and final are taken in class.
