Comp I

Tutor – Kristi Tiller

Course Description

This class focuses on encouraging students to write weekly in a variety of ways, both academically and creatively.  We also incorporate some basic grammar skills and vocabulary as those are necessary building blocks for strong writing.  Assignments range from creating solid paragraphs to communicate effectively to essay writing, as well as learning to read and respond to short pieces of literature.  We end the year with a research paper so that students are exposed to a broad scope of writing experiences by the conclusion of the course. Parents will be active participants in this course as they help students brainstorm ideas, review writing assignments, and give feedback for improvement.
